💡🦋 Did you know the way ADHD is diagnosed has changed?
The DSM—the main guide doctors use—recently updated how ADHD is described and diagnosed:
"Types" of ADHD are now called presentations (because symptoms can change over time).
Severity levels like mild, moderate, and severe help describe each person’s experience.
ADHD can now be diagnosed if symptoms appear before age 12 (instead of 7).
Teens & adults need only 5 symptoms (down from 6) to qualify.
ADHD can be diagnosed alongside autism.
Diagnosis focuses on how symptoms affect your life, not just if they cause "impairment."

💬 These changes matter! ADHD is often called a “disorder,” but many see it as a difference or even a unique strength. The words we use shape how we understand and support each other.
